A convoy of heavy vehicles passed through Murwillumbah in March 2019, carrying large concrete beams that will support the deck of the new Byrrill Creek Bridge. This was the second and final convoy. The Byrrill Creek Bridge build is Council’s final job left from the original 1500 items in Tweed’s $25 million road flood recovery program following Tropical Cyclone Debbie in March 2017. The old bridge was washed away in those floods. The Australian Government’s Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development has provided $2.17 million under its Bridges Renewal Program towards the cost of the new bridge.

Surf City Cranes assisted Tweed Shire Council and are proud to work with such a great team of people to ensure that all operations went smoothly.

Thanks to Tweed Shire Council for the footage.
